Mourning for Lotti Reist-Gerber: The widow of the Lilienberg founder has died at the age of 95

Date: 02.12.2022

Deeply saddened, we must inform you that Lotti Reist-Gerber, the widow of founder and long-time Foundation Board President Walter Reist, passed away on November 9, 2022, after a richly fulfilling life at the ripe old age of 95 years

.

Lotti Reist spent her youthful years in Schlatt TG, where her parents Jakob and Marie Gerber ran a cheese dairy. This period was marked by the Second World War, when many men were on active service and women had to take on men's work.

Lotti Reist also lent a hand in the cheese dairy. She mainly worked as the driver of her father's delivery truck. During these years she also met her future husband Walter Reist, who lived in the same village. After the war, she trained as a nurse and worked for several years at the Davos Lung Center. After she married Walter Reist in 1953, daughter Susanne and a year later son Andreas were born.

When the Ferag company, founded a few years earlier, settled in Hinwil in 1963, the family moved from Wallisellen to Hinwil. Lotti Reist was a "full-blooded family woman" and supported her husband in all matters. Above all, she took care of the family and cultivated relationships with relatives. Her great affection was for her four grandchildren. She took great pleasure in gardening and nature, and especially in porcelain painting. For this she attended various courses and brought her art to perfection. What remains are beautiful memories of a warm-hearted and kind person.
