How much passion can the Swiss media landscape take?

Date: 29. - 29.04.2024 18.00 - 19.30

Matthias Ackeret is one of the most enigmatic figures in the Swiss media landscape. Ever since he was discovered as a presenter at Radio Munot over 40 years ago, he has been fascinated by the media and has played many roles himself: journalist, gossip reporter, editor-in-chief, book author, columnist, parliamentary correspondent and activist.

Matthias Ackeret (pictured) has also been recording a weekly television interview with former Federal Councillor Christoph Blocher for 17 years, which always causes a stir. He has been the publisher of the industry magazine persönlich since 2014 and is therefore an in-depth observer of the Swiss media, advertising and communications scene.

He also finds time to write non-fiction books and novels and still walks at least 10,000 steps every day.

How does Matthias Ackeret assess the Swiss media landscape today? What about the independence of journalism, the expertise of media professionals, passionate entrepreneurship and the motivation to break new ground? And why does he think television, radio and magazines still have a future despite the internet and social media? He reveals the answer at today's Lilienberg Talk, which will be moderated by Andreas Jäggi.
