What to do about the ever-increasing cost of healthcare?
That's why we would like to take a closer look at this topic today. We were able to win Konrad Graber (picture) as a discussion partner. He is a good connoisseur of Swiss politics, but also of the health insurance system. That is why he is also a proven expert on the Swiss health care system.
Konrad Graber has been President of Curafutura, the association of the major health insurers CSS, Helsana, Sanitas and KPT, since June 1 of this year. Konrad Graber can look back on a long and successful political career, most recently representing the Canton of Lucerne from 2007 to 2019 as a centrist member of the Council of States. He has demonstrated his ability to build bridges during his tenure at the federal level - particularly in the areas of finance, pension provision and healthcare policy. As a former member of the Commission for Social Security and Health and its president (2015 to 2017), he is very familiar with the complex dossiers of the healthcare system.
The Lucerne native, now 65, is a certified accountant and business economist HWV (Zurich School of Economics). He worked professionally as a partner and member of the Board of Directors of the consulting firm BDO until 2020 and was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emmi from 2009 until April 2023.
In our discussion with Konrad Graber, we will try to gain a deeper insight into the complex nature of the Swiss healthcare system. We want to find out why healthcare costs are constantly rising and what options there are to bring this cost development under control.
